We have a saying around here that goes a lot like, “never a dull moment.” That could not have been more true when, last Friday, we discovered a new born calf peeking out from under Ellie’s, El Nino’s, belly. Wow, no…..really……WOW!!
This nearly unprecedented event is the result of a very young boy unexpectedly coming of age in the presence of a lovely cow who was taking refuge with some young kids during the darkest months of winter. Cows typically come into estrus in late summer/early fall syncing the system up for a spring delivery in late April-early May. However…… “Oh, you kids!”
Meet Magnolia the last tree kid of 2013. Maggie was born in the morning last Friday the 27th of September and has requested that we reopen the doors briefly so she can meet all her adoring fans. The Musk Ox Farm will reopen Thursday the 3rd of October-Sunday the 6th of October and Thursday the 10th of October-Sunday the 13th of October from 10am-4pm.
Stop if you can meet Maggie!
